Hayling Island

This is where I live and do most of my birding. Hayling is a small island that sits just to the right of Portsmouth. It is  about 3.62 miles long and 3.94 across at the widest point and has a area of around 4278 acres. It has a good variety of habitat fields ,wood, gorse, mud, beach, and the sea, saltmarsh, and there is a fresh water lake. In winter has vast numbers of waders and wildfowl.
