From SZ 693 988 on the west side of Hayling to SZ 747 979 on
the east side. Its about 3.4 miles long. If you look southwest
across the sea there are a few thing you can see. Three forts.
Horse Sand Fort SZ 65545 94915, No Mans Land Fort SZ 63965

The bay is good for
seawatching its best in spring and autumn. you need the right
wind in spring its best to have a southeast and a southwest in
autumn. I have seen Slavonian grebe in winter when they are
scarce but regular here. I have also seen Gannet, common
scoter, Razorbill and on the 03/10/04 I saw a Sooty
Shearwater close to Horse Sand Fort. |

Along the beach you can
see Oystercatcher, Sanderling, turnstone, dunlin, and a good
mix of gulls. I have seen Black Headed, Common, Mediterranean,
Great Black Backed, Herring, Yellow Legged.
